Mubasher Lucman slammed for appearing at an Israeli news channel

Mubasher Lucman, Pakistani journalist and anchorperson is being slammed for appearing at an Israeli news channel. As he shared his views that Pakistan should establish ties with Israel.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Imran Khan in a statement said Pakistan would not accept Israel unless Palestinians get their right to self-determination.

Days after the reports of the secret meeting between Saudi Crown Prince Salman Bin Mohammad and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Mubasher Lucman appeared on an Israeli news channel to apparently to comment on the controversy surrounding the latest push of Arab countries towards normalizing ties with Isreal.

But he ended up sharing his views that Pakistan should revisit its foreign policy and establish diplomatic ties with Israel.

“I am one of those people who believe both countries should shake hands and establish diplomatic ties,” said Lucman.

“People in Pakistan do not know much about Israel, except that it is a zionist state carrying out ‘whatever it is doing against Palestinians’”.

“The Israeli nation is a great nation in its own way. They are fighters, they are survivors,” he further added.

“If Israel and Pakistan ever have to shake hands, it must not be due to a third party, it must be directly. We don’t need to be subservient to anyone, be it the US or Saudi Arabia”, said Mubasher Lucman.

The social media in Pakistan is in an uproar over the views of Mubashir Luqman on an Israeli channel. keeping in view that both the countries do not share any kind of diplomatic relationship.

Social media users are registering their protest by using hashtags #PakistanReject_Israel, #MubashirLuqman
