Meanwhile, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s (RHC) meeting was held in Islamabad to sight the Shawwal moon, which had received no testimonies from any city so far about a sighting.
As per Geo News report, Police in North Waziristan has registered cases against a few clerics who announced the fake sighting of the Eid moon a day ago.
As being reported these cases have been registered under the Ehtram-e-Ramazan Ordinance, 1981, the control of loudspeakers ordinance, and other provisions.
According to police, cases have been registered against Maulvi Rafiullah of the Haider Khel Mosque and Qari Muhammad Roman of the Miranshah Mosque along with seven others accused of witnessing the moon and making an announcement.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, who previously served as the science and technology minister, in a tweet shared: “At present, the age of the moon in Pakistan is 13 hours and 42 minutes, so it is not possible to see the moon today.”
“This is the option of those who have celebrated Eid with Saudi Arabia, but where would it be wise to end the holy month by lying? Let’s just say that we have to celebrate Eid according to Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia, he added.
