IPL 2020: Muttiah Muralitharan Admitted to Hospital for Cardiac Issue
Sri Lankan legend and Sunrisers Hyderabad spin coach Muttiah Muralitharan is reported to be admitted to the hospital in Chennai for a cardiac issue.
As being reported by the media Muralitharan has been admitted for an angioplasty procedure.
He has undergone angioplasty in Chennai’s Apollo Hospital. A stent was fitted to unblock an artery.
He will rejoin Sunrisers Hyderabad when discharged, as per the latest update.
Muralitharan is in the city for the ongoing Indian Premier League 2021. For this year’s league, he is associated with the Hyderabad Sunrisers team as their spin coach.
Muralitharan who turned 49 just a day ago on April 17, is the highest wicket-taker in the history of Test cricket, with 800 wickets to his credit.
Following the news of his admission to the hospital, wishes and prayers started to pour in on social media.
