ICC launches Men’s Cricket World Cup campaign video; Netizens troll cricket body for ignoring Pakistan
Cricket deserves better!

ICC on Thursday launched its Men’s Cricket World Cup campaign video, however, netizens were least impressed and trolled the cricket body for ignoring Pakistan!
A little more than 2-minute duration video feature Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan featured in the video alongside a blend of former and current cricketers, including Eoin Morgan, Muttiah Muralitharan, JP Duminy, Shubman Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Jonty Rhodes, and Jemimah Rodrigues
The general feeling is that the content has been produced by the host team but the campaign video was supposed to be for the ICC not promotions for Cricket India.
Well, the campaign film, developed in partnership with Disney Star – ICC’s global broadcast partner – says it all as it uses ‘Match Cuts’ to highlight the aforementioned emotions experienced by both players and fans over one day.
And what Pakistan gets as a total feature in the video:
– Pakistan Jersey on a mannequin
– Wahab in anguish
– Shadab getting hit x 2
– Amir bowled
– Shaheen’s celebration
– Depressed Pakistani fan
– Inzamam getting runout
Here check out the video before moving on to the reactions:

This video is based on ICT and ECB. Feature Shaheen taking a wicket, Shadab getting hit for six, Wahab Riaz Getting smacked, and Mohammad Amir getting clean bowled. But The Number One ODI batsman isn’t there and also has a good record in World Cup 2019. I Must Say Jealousy and… https://t.co/rUALLSEAME pic.twitter.com/3G0w5hG76n

There is not even a single shot of Babar Azam in the ICC promo
P.S. ICC if you don’t remember, No. 1 on the list, Babar Azam has been ICC ODI Cricketer for two consecutive years!
ICC ODI World Cup promo without Babar Azam – the number one ODI batter since almost two years and the ODI cricketer of the year 2021 and 2022. https://t.co/oEuHUPu20d

Just watched the #ICCWorldCup2023 promo and noticed that the No.1 ODI batsman, Babar Azam isn't featured despite his impressive record in the World Cup 2019, where he scored 474 runs. I think this omission stems from jealousy and hypocrisy on the part of the ICB. 😡👎 pic.twitter.com/LZ0YUGSgiO

Not a single still of Babar who is dominating the ICC carts in ODIs since last 2.5 years

This, however… utter ****. In thrall of India and England. Mentions Pakistan (and West Indies, oddly) in passing and in terms of needing sympathy. Cricket deserves better. https://t.co/m5YZ9dss02

Has the World Cup been reduced to a trilateral series between India, England and the Proteas? https://t.co/AqcIZTlZf2
