New Zealand defeat Pakistan in second T20 by 21 runs

Chasing the 195-run target, Pakistan batters yet again struggled to stay at the crease

New Zealand defeated Pakistan in the second T20I match by 21 runs at Seddon Park, Hamilton, on Sunday.

Chasing the 195-run target, Pakistan batters struggled to stay at the crease against the New Zealand bowling attack taking wickets at regular intervals.

The visiting side lost both of their openers, Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub, within the first overs for just 10 runs.

Fakhar was bowled out at 50 off 25 balls in the 10th over by Adam Milne, leaving Pakistan 97-3.

The team struggled from that point, with only Babar looking a threat until he was caught off Ben Sears for 66.

The green team was at 125-6 in 14.3 overs.

Iftikhar Ahmed (4 off 8), Azam Khan (2 off 3), and Aamer Jamal (9 off 8), all failed to deliver with the bat.

Milne finished with 4-33

New Zealand were again put to bat first and Finn Allen thrashed on the visitors’ bowling attack, blasting five sixes in his 74 off 41 balls to dominate the innings.

As Finn Allen departed to the pavilion at NZ score of 137-2 in 13 overs, the Black Caps only managed to add 57 runs in the remaining seven overs.

Haris Rauf took three wickets and became Pakistan’s top wicket-taker of the match.

While skipper Shaheen Afridi failed to pick up any wicket.

The hosts now have a 2-0 lead in five T-20 matches series over the visiting side.
