PCB sacks entire selection committee after World Cup’s humiliating debacle

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday sacked the entire selection committee after the World Cup’s humiliating debacle!

PCB management committee chairman Zaka Ashraf decided to remove Tauseef Ahmed, Wajahatullah Wasti, and Wasim Haider.

The announcement of the new selection committee will be expected within two days.

Meanwhile, sources claim that PCB is likely to sack the team’s director, Mickey Arthur.

The head coach Grant Bradburn and batting coach Andrew Puttick are also likely to be sacked.

While Inzamamul Haq and Morne Morkel had already stepped down from the posts of chief selector and bowling coach.

As reported, the PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf will meet captain Babar Azam and other members of the team management in the next couple of days before leaving for India, where he will attend an ICC meeting, on November 17.

Babar Azam’s team could only register four victories out of nine matches in the World Cup 2023. Green Team’s performance fell short of expectations, leading to their elimination in the round-robin stage.

The team faced defeats against formidable opponents such as India, South Africa, and Australia. And as well as Afghanistan.

Following the World Cup exit, the team faced severe criticism.

Questions were being raised about Babar Azam’s leadership, the ineffective spin bowling, and the PCB’s role in the team’s preparation and strategy
