I’ve always felt safe playing in Pakistan: Daren Sammy reacts to NZ’s calling off tour
Star West Indies all-rounder and former captain Daren Sammy came forward supporting Pakistan following the news of the New Zealand cricket team backing out of its tour of Pakistan over security concerns.
Taking it to social media Saint Lucian cricketer expressed his disappointment said that he always felt safe playing in Pakistan.
“Disappointed waking up to the news of the cancellation of the Pakistan Vs New Zealand series because of security issues. Over the last 6 years playing and visiting Pakistan has been one of the most enjoyable experiences. I’ve always felt safe. this is a massive blow to Pakistan,” he said in a tweet.

For his part in bringing back international cricket to Pakistan, Daren Sammy received the highest civilian medal of Pakistan, Nishan-e-Pakistan on 23 March 2020.
