After Backlash for Extravagant Baby Shower, Meghan Markle will Celebrate Birthday Modestly
Meghan Markle is all set to celebrate her 38th birthday party today (August 5) and while one may expect the former Hollywood star and present day princess to have a lavish celebration, it is reported otherwise. The reason for Duchess of Sussex to go modest and low key on her birthday is the severe backlash she earlier received for her over the top baby shower her friends threw for her in New York.
Earlier this year in February, Meghan flew to New York in a private jet and stayed in one of the most expensive suites of the city. Her baby shower was attended by big wigs of Hollywood and celebrity circle and the Duchess received extravagant gifts on her grand event. The move was highly criticized by press in UK who called Meghan’s action ‘American’ and ‘celebrity like’.
However, it is reported that learning from past mistakes, Meghan will not be going overboard with her birthday bash. Instead Frogmore Cottage will host the Duchess’s 38th birthday which is said to be attended by close friends and family instead of celebrities like George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney.
It is also reported that after the alleged strained relationship between Meghan-Harry and Kate-William, the Cambridges will not be in attendance at Meghan’s birthday party. Earlier, Duke and Duchess of Sussex were themselves absent from Kate’s 37th birthday party in January.
