A Speeding car ploughed into people sleeping on a footpath near Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine in Karachi.

As reported the incident took place in the wee hours of Wednesday when a speeding car careened into people who were sleeping on the footpath, leaving several injured near Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine on 26 Number Street.

According to the police, 11 people sleeping on the footpath were injured while the driver of the car was taken into custody.

The injured were rushed to the Jinnah Hospital by the rescue teams

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred as the car driver attempted to avoid a car approaching from the wrong side of the road.

While trying to evade a collision, the driver now in custody, lost control of his vehicle, ploughing onto the people who were sleeping on the footpath.

Six individuals have been discharged from the hospital after receiving necessary medical treatment, the police confirmed.
