Woman arrested in hit-and-run case sent to jail on judicial remand
The suspect was arrested after three and a half months as the video went viral on social media platforms.
The woman who was arrested for being involved in a hit-and-run case has been sent to jail on judicial remand on Thursday.
A Rawalpindi court sent the woman identified as Farah to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in a case about running over a police officer on the motorway.
The suspect was presented in Civil Judge Muhammad Mumtaz Hunjra’s court.
The court adjourned the hearing till May 09.
Following the court’s verdict, the suspect Farah was shifted to a women’s jail.
The suspect was arrested on Wednesday in connection with an FIR filed against her in Rawalpindi’s Naseerabad Police Station, reportedly in January.
The woman is accused of attempted murder and obstructing state affairs after she ran over a police officer when she was stopped on the motorway.
The hit-and-run case came to light after the incident video went viral on social media.
A case was registered against her based on the complaint of Patrolling Officer Mohammad Sabir, under charges including interference in government affairs, resistance, and causing injury to government officials.
