The development comes as the comedian Kathy Griffin changed her profile name to Musk, following which she seems to have been promptly banned from the social media site.

Twitter’s new boss in sharing a tweet notified that “BREAKING: @kathygriffin has been permanently suspended from Twitter for impersonating.”
He added, “Actually, she was suspended for impersonating a comedian.”
Earlier on Sunday Elon Musk through a series of tweets stated that any Twitter handle found engaged in ‘impersonation’ without clearly specifying “parody” will be suspended permanently.
“Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended,” Musk said.
