Fahad Mustafa credits Bollywood’s Govinda for the inspiration behind his acting career.

As Fahad Mustafa accepted his award at Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night in Dubai over the weekend, he talked about his origin story as an actor.

“We are your fans and in Pakistan we always thought if we have to act in a certain way, it has to be like you and then came Ranveer,” said Fahad Mustafa.

“This is an honour, be it a Pakistani or Indian actor. To stand on Filmfare’s stage, we all prepared our speeches, Sajal I can’t top that by the way, you [Sajal] did an amazing job. I started acting in the first place because of Govinda sir. We are your fans and in Pakistan we always thought if we have to act in a certain way, it has to be like you and then came Ranveer,” he said.

The video clip and images of Fahad Mustafa greeting Govinda at the awards function are now doing rounds on social media.

Though the Pakistani actor kept his tradition to touch the knees of the elder in respect, the keyboard warriors got the chance to criticize Fahad Mustafa over the cross boarder rivalry.
