Meera ruled to be Attiqur Rehman’s wife by family court in Lahore

It was finally ruled by the family court in Lahore that actress Meera is the wife of Attiqur Rehman. The judgement was announced in a marriage suit that had been filed nine years ago by the film actress that her nikkah to Attiqur Rehman was forged. The Family Judge Babar Nadeem dismissed Meera’s petition.

The judge said while reading out an 18 page written verdict on Meera’s petition against “jactitation of marriage”, that, “The nikkah-nama is not false”. The court verdict also pointed out that a nikkah-khwan confirmed Meera’s nikkah to Rehman.

Meera had requested a family court to restrain Rehman from calling her his wife, in July 2009. She had told the court in her petition that she had not solemnized the marriage. It was further added by the actress that the nikah-nama produced by Rehman was a forgery and there was no record of it in the union council concerned.

Attiqur Rehman had earlier claimed that he and Meera tied the knot on 2nd September 2007 and arrest warrants were also issued for Meera in 2015 on an application filed by Attiqur Rehman. And some photos are still circulating on internet hinting their relationship as well as few from alleged nikkah ceremony.

Earlier this month Meera had announced that she is leaving the country for good and moving to the United States permanently.
