Meesha Shafi’s legal team answers Ali Zafar
On Friday, Ali Zafar, for the first time on television and media, came open about the Meesha Shafi issue. Talking to the media, Zafar alleged that Shafi had targeted him through an organized plan and for personal gains. He went on to state the Meesha Shafi was looking for international fame and become another Malala, maligning his character and his career.
Ali, also appeared on television with his wife Ayesha Fazli, extending a hand to Meesha. Zafar stated he was willing to let things go if Meesha apologized.
While Ali Zafar has gone public, Meesha Shafi has not made any public statement largely because of the court’s restriction. However, her legal team, addressed the matter on her behalf and issues a public statement.

Besides stating that Meesha was not liable to be held accountable for defamation since she hadn’t lied about anything. Also addressing the Canadian immigration issue, the statement read that Meesha Shafi had the Canadian Immigration since 2016 and split time between here and Canada.
The statement also read that social media attacks were being made to silence Meesha and the entire issue of sexual harassment and this had only fueled Meesha to work with more fervor regarding it.
Back in 2018, April, Meesha Shafi had stated that Ali Zafar had sexually harassed her on more than one occasions during a jam session. Ali Zafar filed a defamation law suit while Meesha’s petition was rejected on technical grounds.
