Pashto folk singer Zarsanga forced to live in a tent with 200 family members in Kohat

Pashto folk singer Zarsanga Bibi is forced to live in a tent with 200 family members in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As being reported the celebrated singer was forced to live in such dire conditions after her official residence in Kohat district was taken back by the culture department.

According to the details, The government had allotted the singer an official residence in Kohat for two years, and on termination of the stipulated time, she was forced to vacate the house.

She is currently under the open sky in a tent with her 200 family members including her sons and daughters and grandchildren, on the land rented on  rs15,000.

According to Zarsanga  Bibi, they have rented a shop in Kohat Bazaar to keep her precious possessions over 2,500 awards, certificates, and medals.

The Covid-19 pandemic has further pushed her family’s condition to extreme poverty. The poor financial conditions have forced her to beg for a living. 

Pashto melody queen, Zarsanga Bibi, has requested PM Imran Khan and Dr. Arif Alvi, and Prime Minister Imran Khan to take notice of her situation.

Singer demands that the culture department provide her with a humble residence so that she could live her last years of her life with dignity.
