Rani Mukerji to star again as a cop in Mardaani 2

Rani Mukerji’s won critical acclaim and audiences heart in Mardaani back in 2014. The film was based on a child trafficking racket and Rani played the powerful cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy, in Pradeep Sarkar’s movie.

Now, 5 years later, the acclaimed film is getting a sequel and once again, Rani will be seen as a cop.  Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy will now lock horns with a 21-year old merciless villain.

An exclusive picture of Rani from the sets of Mardaani 2 was revealed by Yashraj Films. Rani looked confident, bold and ready to take on crime and evil as the fearless cop. Major action sequences of the film will start shooting in May first week in Rajasthan.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 2 will be directed by Gopi Puthran, writer of the first part, Mardaani. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
