South Korean actor Lee Sun-Kyun found dead in an apparent suicide

South Korean actor Lee Sun-Kyun is reported to have been found dead in an apparent suicide.
According to South Korean media reports, the actor known for his role in the Oscar-winning South Korean film ‘Parasite’, had been under investigation over illegal drug use allegations and was subject to 19 hours of police questioning over the weekend.
Yonhap News Agency broke the news on Wednesday that the actor was initially discovered, unresponsive, inside a car in a park in Seoul.

Lee Sun-kyun was one of South Korea’s most decorated actors in TV and films.
As reported, his wife, Jeon Hye-jin, an actress and former Miss Korea contestant, called the police after finding a suicide note.
His body was later found in a car that was parked in a park.
The details emerging revealed that the actor had a charcoal briquette on the passenger seat which led to confirmation of possible suicide.
When the first responders reached the site of the incident, also pronounced him dead on the spot, and therefore no attempt was made to get him to a hospital, reports reveal.
After it was revealed that Lee Sun-kyun was being investigated for his drug use, he was dropped from several major projects just weeks before his death.
