Mein Episode-11 Review: Zaid is still ignoring Mubashira on their honeymoon trip

ARY Digital drama serial Mein is 11 episodes in, the story is quite engaging despite having so many loopholes. Performances are all on point particularly Ayeza Khan has nailed her character as Mubashira. Wahaj Ali seems to be a bit low-key as Zaid. In the previous episode, we have seen that Aira has told Zaid something and we are wondering what is that. In this episode we see Zaid making up to his Valima function. Overall a slow-paced episode!

Mubashira is getting mad at poor Kashmala, she is trying to punish her for her brother’s absence in the Valima function. She even stoops so low that she blackmails Kashmala for making her brother give divorce to her if Zaid does not show up at the event. Poor Kashmala is terrified, one feels for her but one wonders why she is facing all this humiliation and why she is dying to be with a guy who cannot even take a stand for her.

Zaid makes his surprise entry into the Valima venue and Mubashira’s anger has surfed down. The way she changes her tone with her lawyer uncle depicts nothing but that Mubashira is a psycho. Zaid surprises everyone especially Mubashira by praising her for looking beautiful and then asks her to click a photograph with her. For a moment Mubashira thinks that Zaid cannot resist her but she is mistaken.

Zaid starts showing tantrums to Mubashira as soon as they get home. Well, this part of the telling seems a bit wishy-washy. Why did Zaid praise Mubashira in the first place if he had to behave with her like that? Mubashira thanked him for saving her by showing up in Valima but Zaid is being rude to her. Zaid goes to Aira but she snubs him, in the flashbacks we see that Aira has said that whatever she told him about his father is a lie. Well, then how come Zaid ignores all the CCTV camera footage he has seen? Flawed storytelling.

Zaid continues to be rude to Mubashira till his father Asif asks him to go on a honeymoon with Mubashira, surprisingly Zaid agrees to go with Mubashara. Maybe he just wants to make Aira jealous or wants to escape this situation. Mubashira is happy to know that Zaid is going with her on honeymoon. However, we have seen a scene where Zaid is still ignoring Mubashira on his honeymoon as well. He is sleeping all the time in his bed while Mubashira wants him to go with him and explore the island. Well part of us feels that Mubashara deserves this kind of behavior but Zaid is being too harsh on her. Can’t wait to see them both getting together.
