Minhaj, the host of the show broke the news on social media on early Tuesday.

In a tweet, he wrote, “What a run. @patriotact has come to an end. I got to work with the best writers, producers, researchers, and animators in the game. My 2 babies were born and grew up with the show. TY to @Netflix and everyone who watched. Now it’s time to return these screens to Best Buy”.

Emmy Award-winning series made its premiere in 2018 and covered a myriad of topics from the George Floyd protests and coronavirus outbreak to corruption in cricket.

The show’s sixth and final season that premiered in May this year was filmed from Minhaj’s home in front of a green screen amid coronavirus pandemic halted production for a number of talk shows.
