The trailer of Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt has been finally released by the filmmakers. And the first look so far seems pretty impressive.

The upcoming musical drama is based on the real life of street rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy who are known for their song Mere Gully Mein. Ranveer will be seen playing the role of an underground rapper who beats all the odds to become famous in the flick.

The 2-minute 42-seconds duration edgy trailer provides the insights at Ranveer’s character’s journey through struggling times on the way to becoming a popular rapper. All the ingredients of a good film can be sensed in this trailer.

Both the leading stars Alia and Ranveer are sharing the screen for the first time. Alia stuns with her Haiderabadi accent in the film, playing Ranveer’s love interest. She will be playing the character of Sakina, who is smart, sharp and witty at the same time. Their relation will go ups and downs in the film several scenes from the trailer hints at it.

Gully Boy is a joint production venture between Zoya Akhtar’s Tiger Baby and Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, is slated to hit the screens on February 14, the Valentine’s Day.

Ranveer has given back to back super hit films, his last film Simmba released in December has been a massive hit at the box-office. Simmba is nearing the Rs 200 crore-mark. And this upcoming film also sounds promising.

After seeing Ranveer’s rapping skills earlier in Asli Hip Hop, the trailer certainly makes it tough for the audience to wait for the film to get released
