A YouTube channel named SuperCarlinBrothers, often uploads videos to discuss some unexplained, vague topics from films that usually leave loose ends in the movies. Few months ago, they discussed the most ambiguous aspect of Harry Potter story; Voldemort’s pet snake, Nagini.
It was revealed in the final part of the Harry Potter series, that Nagini, in fact is one of the six Horcruxes; the vessels for a portion of Voldemort’s soul, that needed to be destroyed in order to kill Voldemort. There were so many rumours about Nagini to be the snake that was released by Harry in the Zoo in the first part of the series. However, the rumours were soon dismissed since it was explained that Nagini is a Python while the snake in the zoo was a Boa.
Anyway, it was theorized by SuperCarlinBrothers that Nagini, in fact, was a woman! Here’s how it could be.
Okay, when I first watched this video once it was uploaded, I thought that it actually makes sense. The way things are explained and related clearly makes sense. However, it wasn’t until a couple days before when the theory was actually confirmed!
Even if you are not a true Harry Potter fan, you must know about ‘Fantastic Beasts and where to find them’ by J.K. Rowling in which we get to know about a witchcraft & wizardry school of New York and how it really related to the Harry Potter series. If you haven’t watched it, don’t worry, I’m not giving away any spoilers. 😁
A coupe days ago, the final trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was released which finally confirmed the theory, with Claudia Kim being Nagini.
When the story, plot and characters were revealed to the cast before the movie was made, even the cast was SHOOK to know it!
Many fans from all around the world did not like knowing it from the trailer and they said it would have been better if this was revealed in the movie and how amazing it would have been to get to know it right in the movie theater. Since no body expected to see anything in the trailer that they didn’t already know, it was pretty unexpected for fans to get to know about it in the trailer.
Many fans critiqued about Nagini being represented by a Korean woman and that they think it is garbage. Here’s a tweet to which J.K. Rowling responded and settled everything down.
The Naga are snake-like mythical creatures of Indonesian mythology, hence the name ‘Nagini.’ They are sometimes depicted as winged, sometimes as half-human, half-snake. Indonesia comprises a few hundred ethnic groups, including Javanese, Chinese and Betawi. Have a lovely day 🐍
