Disney reveals the first look for live-action version of ‘Mulan’
Disney has revealed the first look of the character for its much-anticipated live-action film “Mulan”, showing Liu Yifei, also known as Crystal Liu, in the starring role. The production for the remake of the 1998 animated film is reported to have been started and will be taking place in China and New Zealand. The film is reported to be slated for March 2020 release.

The story of the legendary warrior is one of the China’s most popular folktales, and is still included as a part of the curriculum in Chinese schools today.
According to the media reports finding an actress to play “Mulan”, has been a difficult task which involved interviewing nearly 1,000 candidates across five countries for the role.
According to the legend, Mulan, is a young woman who disguises herself as a man in order to stop her father from joining the military.
The other star cast of the film include Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Cheng Pei-pei and Tzi Ma. Chris Bender, Jason Reed, and Jake Weiner are the producers for this film. Mulan’s executive producers are reported to be Barrie M. Osborne, Tim Coddington and Bill Kong.
Disney has been busy with the remakes of the classics lately, recent one was Beauty and The Beast in 2017, The Jungle Book in 2016. Few other live-action remakes including The Little Mermaid, Snow White and Aladdin, are reported to be in making.
