No sequel for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, confirms Karan Johar

The 1998 hit saga, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, recently completed its twenty years in Bollywood and the team threw a massive party to celebrate the success of such an iconic film.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was a massive hit, touching all the right chords and bringing across a sweet tale of love and emotions. Starring Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee in the lead, the film brought about a love triangle, giving a whole new definition to friendship and the emotion.

And so, naturally when there’s news about a sequel to such a successful film, excitement in the crowd is bound to occur. But since many sequels absolutely destroy the essence of the first film, a lot of people were actually not happy about Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2. And so, to our delight, director Karan Johar confirming that there’s no such thing happening, has been such a big relief.

Earlier tabloid Bollywood Hungama reported that a source close to Karan Johar had confirmed the sequel, “Karan has cracked an idea for a sequel. Now, all he needs to do is to develop it, which he’s doing and pretty soon there will be an announcement.”

However, in response to the tabloid’s news, Karan Johar, the director, tweeted a simple no, putting to rest all speculations.
