Sony announces new release date for horror reboot ‘Grudge’

Horror-thriller fan? Then this news update might be according to you interest. Sony has announced a new release date for “Grudge”. It is the reboot of the 2004 supernatural thriller “The Grudge”. The film will now release on June 21st 2019. The film was earlier slated for August 16th release.

The star cast of the film include Andrea Riseborough, Demián Bichir, John Cho, Lin Shaye and Jacki Weaver. The 2004 film was a remake of the 2002 Japanese film “Jun-On: The Grudge”.

The Grudge films revolve around people who are haunted by a ghost that died while experiencing powerful rage or sorrow.

It is going to be the second remake of the original Japanese horror film and the fourth installment in The Grudge film series.

This new American supernatural psychological horror film is written and directed by Nicolas Pesce, co-written by Jeff Buhler, and produced by Sam Raimi, through its Ghost House Pictures banner, Robert Tapert, and Takashige Ichise.

With the new release date Grudge will now be going head to head with Disney’s Toy Story 4, also releasing in June.
