Jenna Ortega drops out of film ‘Scream 7’ over ‘Wednesday’ scheduling issues

Actor Melissa Barrera was fired from Scream 7 over pro-Palestine social media posts

Jenna Ortega drops out of the film ‘Scream 7’ reportedly over Neflix’s series ‘Wednesday’ scheduling issues!

Jenna Ortega dropped out of the upcoming Scream film just a day after Hollywood production company Spyglass fired actor Melissa Barrera over her pro-Palestine social media posts.

Losing two main leads who were instrumental in reinventing the dying Scream franchise has now put the film’s future in limbo.

Ortega received a Comedy Series Actress Primetime Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe Comedy TV Actress nomination for her turn as the title character of Wednesday.

Jenna Ortega and Barrera played sisters in 2022’s Scream and this year’s Scream VI respectively as Tara and Sam Carpenter.

As reported, her exit from the film has nothing to do with Melissa Barrera‘s firing.

A script for Scream 7 is not ready yet, and Jeena Ortega has to head to Ireland in April to shoot the second season of Netflix’s Wednesday which will go into the summer. Adding more to it, Beetlejuice post SAG-AFTRA strike had a few extra days of shooting in order to meet its Labor Day 2024 theatrical release.
