Actor Melissa Barrera is reported to have been fired from Scream 7 film over pro-Palestine social media posts!

The divide in Hollywood over supporting Palestine becomes obvious with each passing day.

As reported, Hollywood production company Spyglass dropped actor Melissa Barrera as the star of the upcoming Scream film over her social media posts intended towards Palestine.

The comments that reportedly led to Melissa Barrera being fired from ‘Scream 7’ was: “Gaza is currently being treated like a concentration camp. Cornering everyone together, with nowhere to go, no electricity no water…people are still silently watching it all happen. THIS IS GENOCIDE & ETHNIC CLEANSING.”

The company claims that Barrera, a Mexican actor who has starred in the fifth and sixth Scream movies over the past two years, made antisemitic posts when she referred to Israel as a “colonised land” and repeated an antisemitic trope when she posted “Western media only shows the [Israeli] side. Why do they do that, I will let you deduce for yourself.”

 

Melissa Barrera’s post on social media after being dropped from ‘Scream’ for denouncing the genocide in Gaza stated: “At the end of the day, I’d rather be excluded for who I include than be included for who I exclude.”
