Mohsin Abbas Haider shares details of his upcoming film Baaji!

We brought you the news today that ace director Saqib Malik had announced his debut directorial Baaji, with Meera in the lead. The film, as stated is social drama-cum-thriller set against the backdrop of a fading Lollywood and the emerging new order of the Pakistan film industry.  With a multiple star cast,  Mohsin Abbas Haider would be playing an integral part in the film.

Talking to OY, Mohsin shared why he choose to do the film and his character as well. “The reason I choose to do Baaji, was its story,” shared Moshin with Oye Yeah.

Mohsin firmly believes that the “Baaji” promises to be a film with a difference.

“I am playing a young man who lives in interior Lahore, who has a big passionate dreams about his life and to achieve these big dreams he wants to relocate”, tells Mohsin Abbass Haider without revealing the name of the character.

He also clarified that this film is not about Meera Ji’s life as being speculated. It is just a misconception which has been in talks for some time.

“Most interestingly there is no lead character in the film”, shares Mohsin and he added further that, “the five or six main characters carry the film story in their shoulders”.

Talking about the story of the film Mohisn shared, “Baaji has a wonderfull story line. And the reason why I choose this film was its amazing story. Penned by Irfan Ahmed Urfi and Saqib himself, “Baaji’s” storyline aims to deliver a sizzling dose of high glamour and intense drama”.
“It is a commercial film, but I believe that this film will lay a foundation for a different kind of cinema in Pakistan. I hope people will like this experiment”.

Expected to hit the theaters in mid-2019, Baaji, could be an Eid release. Let’s wait a little bit more to find out more about the upcoming film. Baaji is reported to have a highly anticipating star cast other than Mohsin, it includes Nisho, Nayyar Ejaz, Meera, Amna Ilyas, Osman Khalid Butt, and Ali Kazmi.
