Paris’s first nudist restaurant is closing down

The French capital’s very first restaurant reserved exclusively for naked diners will be closing its doors in February just after 15 months of opening. The reason cited for this decision is due to the lack of simple bare necessity: customers.

Eatery named O’Naturel was Paris’ very first nudist restaurant which provided the diners a place to leave their clothes and inhibitions at the door.

Located in the 12th arrondissement, it’s opening in November 2017, was being hailed as an indication of the rising popularity of naturism in France. But it could not get much of the support from the customers. Seems like it was not acceptable for the French naturalist to dine in with strangers that too, naked!

The owners of O’Naturel, 42-year-old twins Mike and Stephane Saada in a statement announced: It is with great regret that we announce the definitive closing of the O’Naturel restaurant on Saturday, February 16, 2019.

Thank you for having participated in this adventure by coming to dine at O’Naturel. We will only remember the good times, meeting beautiful people and customers who were delighted to share exceptional moments

Also requesting customers to show support in their last days of business. The request was shared on eatery’s Facebook page.

Diners at the eatery were presented with a list of rules outlining what is expected of them in terms of behavior, which also included any voyeurism or exhibitionism likely to shock was not tolerated.

At the restaurant, only teenagers (who must be accompanied by an adult) were allowed to keep their clothes on in the dining room.

Customers were required to leave their clothes in the cloakroom along with mobile phones and cameras, which was perhaps for obvious reasons.

O’Naturel is reported to have a minimalist décor. It has a menu of upmarket French bistro cuisine, which included lobster, foie gras and snails with parsley cream sauce, and priced at 49 euros ($57.50) for three courses.
