Alleged leaked audio of Ruet-e-Hilal committee member sparks controversy
Alleged leaked audio of a Ruet-e-Hilal committee member has sparked a new controversy.
The late-night announcement of the Shawwal moon sighting has already made the public unrestful and later the leaked audio raises question marks on the credibility of the committee under the new chairman.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad on Wednesday announced that the witnesses were received from Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Zonal committees meet across the country and the decision was made on the basis of the witnesses received from different areas,” he said.
However, a video clip doing rounds on social media featuring a member of the committee who is on a call with someone without realizing that the microphones and cameras set for the press conference were on and recording.
The cleric can be heard saying, We are Missing Mufti Muneeb.
