Here is why #boyswillbeboys trending on Twitter timeline!
CSS 2023 test paper has sparked a heated debate on social media!
It all started after the English test paper of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) was shared on social media.
It emerges that Pakistan’s topmost competitive examination paper of the 2023 Central Superior Services (CSS) examination, asked students to write an essay on “boys will be boys”.
And now you know why hashtag #boyswillbeboys is trending on the Twitter timeline!
The English comprehensive essay writing question is worth 100 marks for having 2500 to 3000 words.
The assessment is considered to be an elite examination and those who appear for the Federal Public Service Commission test spend months or sometimes years in preparation.
But this year’s topic has left everyone quite amazed, boys will be boys! and what about girls? or the person who set the test paper was Dua Lipa fan.
The topic has left the netizens visibly divided!

FPSC Examiner: "Boys will be boys."
A lot of people are criticising “Boys will be boys”. I believe, it’s a good topic to see how critical one can be. The personality of the candidate has misogynist traits or not. You can easily get a lot of idea of the person if one starts speaking on this. #CSSEssay2023 pic.twitter.com/0FgC7nvkPc

Why does the FPSC assess candidates on essays written on topics suitable for 5th grade students?!?

I feel the topics are alright assuming the examiners are assessing them on writing skills not on how traditional or Islamic the applicants response is. "The boys will be boys" topic can help you weed out the traditional patriarchal types from the crowd.

Don’t know why ‘CSS mentors’ are losing their minds over this essay paper in general & topic number 10 in particular. It’s quite a balanced paper warranting critical thinking & expository skills.

‘Boys will be boys’ needs deconstruction from feminist perspective. pic.twitter.com/55TXWsAvee
