Did Maryam Nawaz invite controversy on the first day in office?

Uzma Kardar reacts to Maryam Nawaz’s reaction at the Punjab Assembly lobby on Monday. 

Newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took charge as the provincial top official after taking the oath to serve the post.

Earlier in the day, PML-N leader Uzma Kardar met the newly elected Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz warmly, but after that, the video of Maryam Nawaz’s reaction showing removing her hand went viral on social media.

Uzma Kardar congratulated Maryam Nawaz but was left surprised at Maryam’s reaction.

As the video of the incident went viral on social media, Uzma Kardar in a statement  said “I was having breakfast before congratulating Maryam Nawaz, when Maryam Nawaz came, I didn’t care that my hands were greasy.”

It can also be seen in the viral video that when Maryam Nawaz came, a plate was placed on the table in front of Uzma Kardar.
