According to the report, the price of flour has been increased with Rs6 now fixed at Rs70 per kilogram.
“The price was increased after the surge in wheat price”, the official of flour mills association said in his statement, adding that “the situation has turned bad from worse for them due as the government has also set up electricity and gas tariff.
Nadeem, a flour mill owner, said “prices are increasing because the prices of raw wheat have increased. Wheat prices for a 40kg bag is Rs2,200. In addition to this, the electricity charges per unit have also increased”, he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that prices have surged for the second time in the last two weeks. During the incumbent government’s tenure, the price has been lifted by Rs20 so far.
