JUI-F Leader Mufti Kifayatullah braves assassination attempt

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s (JUI-F) senior leader Mufti Kifayatullah braved an assassination attempt near Mansehra Interchange On Wednesday morning. He suffered a few injuries in the attack.

Reportedly, Mufti Kifayatullah along with his two sons and a companion were traveling to Mansehra from Islamabad when their car was hit by another vehicle from behind and making them stop near Mansehra Interchange.

The unidentified men tried to pull the JUI-F leader out of his car and attacked them with iron rods, leaving all passengers of the car wounded.

As being reported, Mufti Kifayatullah along with his companions were taken to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital Mansehra for the treatment.

According to medics, the injured JUI-F leader had sustained injuries on his back, hand and other parts of his body.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

As per Dawn report, following the incident, Kifayatullah’s son Hussain lodged the First Information Report (FIR) at City police station under Section 324 (attempt to murder), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
