Karachi: Heavy rain, thunderstorm expected in next 24 hours

After last night’s thunderstorm, Karachi is expected to receive more heavy rain in the next 24hours!

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Thursday has forecast a downpour, coupled with thunderstorms in the metropolis.

The minimum temperature in Karachi is expected to be 27°C, while the maximum temperature is likely to be 34°C.

Humidity has been recorded at 78% while the speed of the winds from the west has been measured at 12 km/hr in the city.

As per the MET department, low pressure from India’s Madhya Pradesh has entered Pakistan and under the influence of the system, parts of Sindh and Karachi will be hit by thundershowers.

Sindh will continue to receive rain with thunderstorms till September 11, the Met department stated.

The Met Office said that the Monsoon currents are penetrating upper and lower parts of the country. A westerly wave is also present in the upper and western parts of the country.

The PMD added that rain coupled with wind and thundershower is expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, eastern Balochistan, and Sindh.
