Karachi’s coronavirus positivity rate hits 24.82%

Karachi’s coronavirus positivity rate has hit 24.82% on Sunday.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has termed it a “very serious situation” and urged people to follow the SOPs.

According to Sindh Health Department, 3,091 tests were conducted in Karachi in the last 24 hours, out of which 725 cases came back positive.

While city’s four major hospitals are operating at full capacity and a total of 1,100 patients have been admitted, according to official figures.

The provincial health department said the number of COVID-19 patients is higher than they were during June.

It is to be noted that the Delta variant — which first emerged in India — is causing the rapid spread of the disease.

Sindh reports the highest daily Covid cases in over a year!

 

Sindh has reported 2,343 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours — up from 1,683 a day earlier and the highest number of daily infections since July 2, 2020, when 2,430 infections were recorded.

As many as 19 more patients succumbed to the virus, taking the death toll in the province to 5,833.

The provincial COVID-19 cases tally now stands at 367,075, according to an update from the chief minister’s office.

A total of 18,122 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, while 799 patients recovered from the disease.
