Nawaz Sharif is returning to Pakistan in October

Nawaz Sharif is returning to Pakistan next month, it’s confirmed.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif ended months of speculations for the first time, as he confirmed that he will be returning to Pakistan in October this year.

Sharif confirmed the news during a meeting with party leaders and workers in London at Stanhope House, albeit without revealing the exact date.

As reported, ex-PM Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N leaders Chaudhary Tanveer, Danyal Chaudhary, Chaudhary Nadeem Khan, Dr Anjum, and others were in attendance at the meeting.

The three-time former prime minister has been in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 owing to health reasons.

PML-N leader’s return is considered critical to the chances of his party winning the upcoming elections as the party dented its own chances thanks to rising prices during the 16-month stint of the Shehbaz Sharif-led coalition government.

It was reported last month that the PML-N had decided to employ an aggressive strategy in the next general elections

It was reported last month that the PML-N supremo was set to return to Pakistan in the middle of October. The sources also shared that the three-time premier will be returning in the “second half of October”.

PML-N President Shehbaz had also said that his elder brother would be returning in October.

“Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan in October and lead the election campaign and this has been decided after the PML-N party consultations,” Shehbaz said as Nawaz stood next to him.

Shehbaz added that Nawaz would face the law of the land upon his return to Pakistan.
