Dr. Aamir Liaquat’s tweet mocking the Hindu goddess has landed him in hot waters. Following the backlash, the tweet was deleted by Wednesday night.
His attempt for trying to be sarcastic towards PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz went horribly wrong as he posted a picture of the Hindu goddess.
Following his remarks, Pakistan Hindu Council on Wednesday condemned the offensive tweet.
Dr. Ramesh Vankwani, Patron-in-chief Pakistan Hindu Council in a tweet said, “Strongly condemned this shameful act by someone who claims to be a religious scholar also but doesn’t know respect to other religions. Delete this tweet immediately otherwise we reserve the right to demand strict action under the Blasphemy Act and protest across the country.”
