Pakistan reports 2,304 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hrs, highest number since July

Pakistan has reported 2,304 COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours, the highest number of daily cases since July,

The figure shows more than a 27 percent increase over the previous day’s cases of 1,808.

The second wave of coronavirus is proving to be lethal as it claimed 37 lives in a day, another highest in four months.

Pakistan has reported 714 coronavirus recoveries, according to the government’s portal for tracking the spread of the disease in the country, during the last 24 hours.

As being reported, a total of 36,923 tests were conducted throughout the country, bringing the case positivity rate to 6.4%.

Furthermore, a total of 321,563 people have recovered from the virus so far.

Punjab has reported has rereported the highest Covid-19 death toll since July, with 17 deaths during the last 24 hours and 601 coronavirus cases.

With the news cases, the provincial total has risen to 108,822 while the death toll has surged to 2,455.

Meanwhile, the federal capital, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have collectively reported 462 coronavirus cases and four deaths.

Breakdown of the cases and deaths is as follows:

Islamabad: 357 cases, 2 deaths

AJK: 98 cases, 2 deaths

GB: 7 cases

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 214 new COVID-19 cases and one death during the last 24 hrs, taking the provincial total to 41,471. While KP’s coronavirus death toll has risen to 1,303.

Balochistan  in the last 24 hors has repoted 48 cases and one death. The provincial COVID-19 case tally has risen to 16,274 while the death toll surged to 155.
