Plastic bags completely banned in Sindh form Oct 1
After the federal capital, the use of plastic bags has been banned by the province of Sindh, to be effective form October 1. Next time you go for buying grocery or any other shopping bring your own bag!
An official notification in this regard was issued on September 27, the provincial government invoked the Sindh Prohibition of Non-Degradable Plastic Products and the Sindh Environment Protection Act 2014.
Talking it to social media, Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information Senator Murtaza Wahab on Monday, announced the provincial govt. decision.
By sharing the notification, the senator wrote: “Notification banning manufacture, sale and use of non-biodegradable plastic/shopping bags in the province has been issued by Sindh Govt. #Environment”.

The notification reads, “The provincial government “is pleased to impose a complete ban on the manufacturing, sales, purchase, and use of non-degradable plastic bags of all sizes”.
Earlier, Islamabad became the first city in Pakistan to declare itself free from polythene bags, announcement was made on 14th of August.
