Saudi Arabia’s King Salman hospitilized
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has been admitted to a hospital in the capital of Riyadh.
The kingdom’s Royal Court in a brief statement on Monday said that the King has been hospitalized for medical tests due to inflammation of the gallbladder.
The statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency said the 84-year-old monarch is being tested at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital. While no further details were provided.
King Salman has ruled the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia since 2015 and is the custodian of Islam’s holiest sites. His son crown prince Mohammed bin Salman is next in line.
After King’s hospitalization, the visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhemi to Saudi Arabia has been postponed, said the Saudi foreign minister said on Monday.
“In recognition of the importance of the visit and a desire to make it succeed, our wise leadership in coordination with our brothers in Iraq has decided to postpone the visit,” Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud said in a Tweet.
