Security guard robs off Rs. 6.5 million at a bank in Karachi’s Defence area
The security guard allegedly robbed Rs6.5 million from the lockers at the Faysal Bank in DHA Karachi, so far the biggest heist reported of the current year.
According to the police, a security guard who was deployed at the bank on security duty robbed the bank along with his accomplices. Who brought gas cutters along to cut-open the bank lockers.
The police source further reveals that the accused managed to loot contents of at least 10 lockers and Rs6.5 million in cash, who has taken the bank staff hostage on gunpoint.
After being informed of the robbery, the area police arrived at the bank and collected evidence, including CCTV footage. Further investigations are reported to be underway.
As being reported, Inspector General of Sindh Police Syed Kaleem Imam took notice of the bank heist and summoned an inquiry report from deputy inspector generals of police (DIGP) south and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA).
