Shah Mahmood Qureshi ‘detained’ in Adiala Jail under 3-MPO for 15 days

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been detained in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi for 15 days under the Maintenance of Public Order (3-MPO).
The development comes on Tuesday after the PTI leader secured his much sought-after bail in the cipher case.
Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hassan Waqar Cheema issued an order today for the former foreign minister’s 15-day detention under the MPO.
“It is probable that after his release from jail, he will again continue his above activities which may lead to a law and order situation, harmful to the life and property of the general public,” the order read.
Meher Bano, Qureshi’s daughter, taking to social media, confirmed that her father was detained under the 3-MPO order.

Despite the fact that @SMQureshiPTI has now been detained under an MPO order, the process for his release on bail in the cypher case is his legal right and we will pursue it. pic.twitter.com/4T5b4rTj1c
