Shoaib Malik returns to Pakistan for 10 days citing personal reasons
Middle order batsman Shoaib Malik has returned to Pakistan for personal reasons. PCB has given Malik a 10 day break. He will miss the only T20 and the 1st ODI and join the squad before May 11th.
“The Pakistan cricket team management has given leave to Shoaib Malik so that he can return home to deal with a personal issue,” PCB said. “He is expected to rejoin the team in 10 days’ time.”The PCB will not be making any further comments and fully expects all concerned to respect Shoaib’s privacy.”
Shoaib Malik’s recent ODI record is not encouraging and this would be a setback. His record in England is poor and critics also questioned his selection in the squad. Malik, had missed the last two World Cups for varying reasons and would not want to miss it this time around.
