In a recent episode of ‘who Donald Trump wants to fight now,’ Twitter has been featured as the US President’s latest enemy. After POTUS recently tweeted against mail-in ballots in the US, calling it an attempt to undermine and rig the upcoming elections, Twitter was quick to respond and call him out for his lies.
“Get the facts about mail-in ballots,” tweeted the social networking site on its official handle as it tagged two of Trump’s tweets. This indirect yet quite a direct jibe at calling Trump’s tweets misinformation and lie obviously did not go down well with the president.
“POTUS will sign an executive order pertaining to social media on Thursday,” an aide to Trump said, without sharing more details about the contents of the executive order.
Trump’s reaction to Twitter and angry tweets against mail-in ballots have become a top trend on the social networking site. #TrumpMeltdown is currently among the top 10 hashtags on Twitter as Donald Trump boosts to shut down Twitter through his executive order and presidential powers.
Earlier, a few states of the US were roped in for online voting in the upcoming November elections to curtail the pandemic impact. Trump had stated that mail-in ballots “would be a free for all on cheating, forgery and the theft of ballots.”
