Uzbekistan beat Pakistan to lift the Street Child Football World Cup

Luck evaded Pakistan as they missed the chance to lift the Street Child Football World Cup. In normal time, both teams played with passion and did not give many chances away. Both teams scored 1 goal each and penalties decided the winner, in which Uzbekistan edged Pakistan 6 to 5.

Earlier, in the 2 semifinals, Pakistan had defeated Indonesia on penalties, while Burundi were put down by Uzbekistan. Pakistan also encountered Uzbekistan but that game also ended 1-1. Two of the best teams in the tournament made it to the final and still after full time, there wasn’t anything between them.
Street Child World Cup, provides a wonderful opportunity to these children. Team Pakistan has performed admirably well and we must congratulate all involved. The players, coaches and administrators deserve a special thank you. Hopefully, 2022, we can go one step further and take the Cup.
