COAS hosts Iftar dinner for Pakistan cricket team

Mohammad Rizwan did not attend the iftar dinner as he departed for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. 

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir hosted an Iftar dinner for the Pakistan cricket team at the Army House in Rawalpindi on Monday.

To prepare for the series against New Zealand, the 10-day training camp for the players of Pakistan cricket was held at the Army School of Physical Training in Kakool. 

After completing the training camp on April 6, the players came to Islamabad, where the army chief hosted an iftar dinner on Monday.

Along with the 29 members of the team members who attended the camp, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and other board officials also attended the iftar dinner hosted by Army Chief,

As reported, Mohammad Rizwan did not attend the iftar dinner as he departed for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. 

After the Iftar dinner Pakistan team members departed to their homes to celebrate Eid ul Fitr. 

“General Syed Asim Munir hosted an Iftar dinner for the Pakistan cricket team at the Army House Rawalpindi. The national team players underwent and concluded physical training at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) camp in Kakul, Abbottabad,” said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Speaking on the occasion, the COAS extended best wishes to all the players in their future endeavours.

“Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi along with PCB officials also attended the Iftar. The cricketers thanked the COAS for the excellent training provided to them at Kakul and the role the army plays in supporting the games in Pakistan,” the press release added.
