Mohsin Naqvi likely to become new PCB chairman, sources

Interim Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi is likely to be appointed as the next Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) chairman, sources claimed on Monday.
According to the news source, Naqvi’s nomination will be made official after PCB Patron-in-Chief and caretaker premier Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar’s approval.
After the caretaker Prime Minister’s nomination, Mohsin Naqvi will replace the former chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, in the Board of Governors.
On the other hand, Naqvi who has been serving as Punjab’s interim chief minister for a year — later in the day also confirmed his appointment while speaking to reporters in Lahore soon after the news broke out.
“I will try to fix the issues affecting Pakistan cricket. Reforms in cricket are the need of the hour,” Naqvi said.
Zaka Ashraf,72, resigned as the chairman of the PCB Management Committee last Friday.
