Under-19 Cricket World Cup: Pakistan beat New Zealand by 10 wickets

Shahzaib Khan was awarded Player of the match for his brilliant 80 runs.

Pakistan beat New Zealand by 10 wickets in a clinical performance in the U-19 Cricket World Cup match played in East London on Saturday.

While batting first, New Zealand batsmen could not stand up to the Pakistani bowlers. 

Thanks to the excellent bowling of the young Pakistani bowlers, New Zealand’s batting line was reduced to 140 runs.

Kiwi batter Lachlan Stackpole was outstanding with 42 runs.

Arafat Minhas bowled brilliantly and took three wickets for just 6 runs.

While, Obaid Shah dismissed three players for 30 runs, and Naveed Ahmed took 2 wickets.

In reply, Pakistani openers batted well and achieved the target of 141 runs without any loss of wickets in the 26th over.

Shahzeb Khan and Shamil Hussain scored 80 and 54 runs respectively.

With this victory, Pakistan now sits on top of the points table of Group D.
