Pakistan reaches second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers

This is the first time Pakistan has won a FIFA World Cup qualifier

A Big day in football history in the country as Pakistan reached the second round of the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers!

Pakistan beat Cambodia by 1-0 at the Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad on Tuesday, making it their first victory in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers history.

Harun Hamid scored the winning goal for Pakistan in the 67th minute of the match.

 

The first leg of the tie between the two sides ended goalless in Cambodia.

With today’s win, Pakistan has joined Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Tajikistan in Group G.

Pakistan will now clash with Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Tajikistan in Group G in round two of the qualifiers, which will start on November 16.

After their win over Cambodia, Pakistan jumped four places to 193 in the FIFA Rankings.
