TikTok has taken down over 10.4 million videos from Pakistan over guidelines violations!

TikTok in its latest community guidelines enforcement report for the second quarter of 2023 (April-June), revealed that 83.6% of the violent videos in Pakistan were removed before anyone could view them, and approximately 92.5% of such videos were eliminated within a day.

TikTok, the social media platform for short videos, in a report released on Thursday, said, “The proactive removal rate for Q2 2023 stood at 98.6%. Globally, TikTok also removed 18,823,040 accounts suspected to belong to users under the age of 13, prioritizing the safety of young users.”

Furthermore, a total of 106,476,032 videos were removed globally, which accounts for approximately 0.7% of all videos uploaded to TikTok in the second quarter of 2023.

“Out of these, 66,440,775 videos were removed through automated systems, while 6,750,002 videos were restored after review,” it added.

While the proactive removal rate for the second quarter stood at 98.6%.

As per the TikTok Guidelines, Severe violations include the following:

  • Showing, promoting, or facilitating youth exploitation and child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
  • Promoting or threatening violence.
  • Showing or promoting non-consensual sex acts, such as rape and molestation.
  • Facilitating human trafficking.
  • Showing real-world torture.
